Frosted Cranberry Cocktail: Christmas Cocktail Ideas
A holiday inspired drink with a cranberry twist! Try adding frosted cranberries for a sweet upgrade to a vodka cranberry cocktail! This post will help inspire you to find Christmas cocktail ideas!
One of the first drinks I ordered when I was 21 was a vodka cranberry. It became something easy that I could order when I was out since I had NO idea what drinks were good. It's a classic, and it is still my go-to when I can't find a good beer to drink. Add a splash of pineapple and we are in business! But, that's another cocktail for another day.
This frosted cranberry cocktail combines sugary cranberries paired with vodka and cranberry juice. I think it would be a fun idea for a brunch cocktail instead of a mimosa (or serve both!). Let's get stirrin'!
How to Sugar Cranberries
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a shallow pan, add ยฝ cup sugar and ยฝ cup water. Heat over medium heat, until mixture simmers and sugar is heated and dissolved.
Remove from the heat, add cranberries. Stir to coat cranberries. Use a slotted spoon to drain the excess sugar mixture off the cranberries, and layer them evenly on the parchment paper.
Give the cranberries an hour or so to dry. Once dry, in a medium-sized bowl, add remaining 1 ยฝ cups of sugar. Add a spoonful of cranberries at a time, tossing them in the sugar.
Using a slotted spoon again, sift them from the sugar and put them onto a fresh sheet of parchment paper.
To start making your cocktail, add ice and cranberries to a tall glass.
Add vodka and cranberry juice, and give the drink a gentle stir. Garnish with sugared cranberries.
