Mango Rum Punch
Another day, another cocktail. This time I’m mixing together a few of my favorite flavors to create a perfect poolside punch. While I’ve made a mango pineapple punch before, this time I’ve switched up the ingredients. I’m using a mango rum with a banana juice. Top it off with a splash of mango nectar, and it’s candy in a glass. Seriously.
Though, today is not just any other day. It’s my husband’s birthday. Is he having the best birthday week ever? Well, I await his stories of his time in LA. Did you watch Shark Week? Do you have no idea what I’m talking about? Miss yesterday’s annoucement? Check out the details of Shark Week (and see the first cocktail in this series!).
The best cocktails I’ve ever made have come from items I’ve already had in my home. I didn’t need to make a special trip to find grenadine or gin. My family enjoys trying new juices, so we usually always have something in the fridge. I scored these fruit nectar sodas from the international aisle at my local grocery store (bonus: they were BOGO!), and I’ve been experimenting with them. It’s a new mixer idea that I hadn’t used before.
As for the star of the show, the liquor, I used Malibu Mango Rum. I haven’t had Malibu in quite some time, but it is easy to drink (almost too easy!).

This cocktail would be easy to double or triple for a party, and I can only imagine the other combinations you can create.
While I wait to pick up my husband from the airport, my mind is still whizzing from all the Shark Week excitement. I’ll save my thoughts for another post, but perhaps the sweetest thing was watching my toddler’s eyes light up when he saw his daddy on the big screen. He pointed and shouted “daddy!” over and over again. He was up wayyyy past his bedtime, and today we are making up for lost time. He slept until 10:30 a.m. (that is crazy!), and now I’m at the mercy of my toddler all day. Bubbles, pizza, cartoons, and mayhem. Just a day in the life!
If you have any questions about the show Monster Hammerhead, I’m going to share some of this rum punch and ask him as soon as he gets home! 😉 One vlog coming soon.
Are you watching Shark Week? What’s your favorite juice? I need ideas for mixers!
