Wake up early on Christmas morning and celebrate the holiday with these Christmas tree pancakes!

There is nothing better than a hot breakfast on Christmas morning by the tree. We like to get up early to scope out presents, turn on a holiday movie, and cozy up in our pajamas. These cute Christmas tree pancakes are easy to make and oh so adorable.

Surprise your family with this fun breakfast idea!

To get started, gather your ingredients. You can use premixed pancake mix or use our recipe to make your own. You will also need your Christmas “tree” decorations!

You will need two large bowls to get started. In the first large bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter. In the other bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and whisk together until combined. Don’t forget the food coloring to turn your pancake mix a sweet shade of green!

Heat a skillet over medium heat, and spray with non-stick spray. Pour pancake batter into the skillet to form 4-5 inch pancakes, slightly larger than the cookie cutter. Allow them to cook for 3-4 minutes, until edges begin to set and bubbles rise to the surface of the pancakes. Flip, and cook a few minutes more, until cooked through. If pancakes cook too quickly, or burn, reduce the heat.

Once the pancakes are cooked, use the cookie cutter to cut the tree shapes from the pancakes.

To make the frosting, in a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Drizzle frosting over pancakes, and top with Christmas nonpareils for a fun Christmas breakfast treat.
