Do you have any special holiday traditions? We always put our tree up together as a family. We always drive through our neighborhood listening to Christmas carols and looking at lights. We always have breakfast together on Christmas morning and open ONE present before bed on Christmas Eve. These special moments carry on from generation to generation, and we are hoping our son will enjoy these memories as he grows. The holidays can be emotional for many, but breakfast is a feel-good moment to connect with everyone over a cup of coffee (or milk if there are littles!).
As it gets cooler and our traditional breakfasts go from fruit to heartier winter-inspired dishes, I stock up on products like Johnsonville Vermont Maple Syrup Breakfast Sausages.
They are an essential item for your breakfast menu, and they pair deliciously with whatever is on the menu. We found them at our local Publix in the refrigerated breakfast meat section. They are made with real Vermont maple syrup, and you can taste it in every bite.
With no artificial flavors or colors, they are popular with kids and parents alike.
We like to go to Publix to stock up on the savings and they always have the freshest produce which is why I was thrilled to also find that cranberries are in season. HOORAY! I buy a bag or two and freeze the rest to use throughout the upcoming winter weeks. Can’t go wrong with extra cranberries!
To celebrate the season, I wanted to up the ante on our traditional pancakes. Instead of chocolate chips, whipped cream, or even sprinkles… why not try the flavor of Christmas? I’m talking about cranberries! I go nuts for them this time of year since you can use them in cocktails, breakfasts, lunches, dinner… snacks…desserts! So many possibilities. For breakfast ideas, I like to pair the sweet cranberry flavor with the smoky yet sweet taste of these breakfast sausages. YUM!
To make your own cranberry pancakes, use fresh cranberries and top your pancakes with butter. You can also infuse the flavor into the pancake batter if you so desire.

Feeling adventurous? You can also chop up the breakfast sausages and add them to the batter. When adding to pancake batter, they work best in small chunks. Extra flavor in a hurry!
