Planning a Cinco de Mayo party or a Taco Night? Here are a few ideas to get spicy! Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of mixing up a few Mexican-inspired cocktails and dishes. While I’m not hosting a special fiesta this year, I do have a few suggestions for YOU! Break out the bubbly, chop a few jalapeños, and let’s get ready to party!
Cinco de Mayo Party Ideas
Hot Corn Dip
The dip in the middle was the hit of a past party. I used this recipe, but I didn’t have some of the ingredients so I changed it. It was still amazing!
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterrey Jack
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- A LOT of garlic powder (I used Johnny's Garlic Spread)
- 1 drained can of corn
- 1 small tomato
- 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
- Combine all ingredients in a baking dish.
- Heat in a 350 degree oven until bubbling.

We had at least six different kinds of dips including salsas, guacamole, and bean dip.
I had salsa bowls so guests could make their own plate of nachos with different dips.

Cheers: Cinco de Mayo Cocktails
Instead of serving just one specialty cocktail, how about a few? Create a sangria bar with red, white, and sparkling sangria! Each one is a hit in their own right. My favorite is the sparkling though!
Not into sangria? How about one of these fun ideas!
Well, I gave this mustache cake a try. It came out okay. You take a round cake and carefully make a wavy line to chop it. Think a ying yang! Re-combine the cake to look like a mustache and enjoy!
