Do you love shabby chic style and rustic decor? Carry that theme to your Halloween decor! Instead of orange pumpkins, black spiders, and white ghosts, you can try a fun, feminine look with vintage pieces. Here are a few ways that you can add shabby chic decor to your home to create a beautiful and budget-friendly home.
Add a Halloween Wreath to Your Front Door. My favorite part of decorating for the seasons is switching out our wreath on the front door. Get started by swapping your current wreath for a fresh one. You can start with a traditional wreath and decorate it how you like, but you can turn it into a Halloween wreath with a few extra accessories. Take a foam or straw wreath and cover it in white material to transform it quickly. You can try adding lace doilies, white fabric, or even yarn. When it is completely covered, try adding spiderwebs or pastel mini pumpkins. You can add spiders, caution tape, or even candy. Grab the tutorial for this Halloween wreath here.
Fill Your Fireplace With Candles. If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace, make it Halloween themed with candles. Remove all of the logs and wood from inside the fireplace, and fill it with candles, candelabras, and tall candle sticks. You can spray paint vintage candelabras black for a spooky touch! Try to have a lot of different heights with the candles. Fill the entire fireplace with multiple layers. Tall white votives will look beautiful, and you can mix in a few other colors if desired. This makes it a spooky Victorian look!
Make a Spooky Birdhouse. I, of course, love a good birdhouse. In fact, our wedding had a birdhouse on our guestbook table to hold cards. This simple decorative element is frugal since you can find them at the thrift store. Paint it white to make it look “distressed.” Try to avoid painting the entire thing since you want it to look old and weathered! Place a fake crow inside and add spiders and cobwebs.
