Minor League Baseball in Montgomery, Alabama: Montgomery Biscuits

My husband is a sports reporter, and we have a shared interest in baseball. Since I live in the Tampa Bay area, I have followed the Rays since they started.

Per Wikipedia, “The Montgomery Biscuits are a Minor League Baseball team based in Montgomery, Alabama. The team is the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays and plays in the Southern League. The team was founded in Orlando, Florida, in 1973 as the Orlando Twins, an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins”. Since they have a connection to my favorite baseball team, I wanted to stop in the stadium and see what it was all about.

When I visited Montgomery, it was not baseball season…however, it was open for a food festival! I got to tour the stadium, shop, and sit at the bar. While I hope to visit one day again during baseball season, I am happy that I was able to see this stadium in person and walk on the field. Definitely a highlight for this baseball fan!

If you’re planning a trip, look for baseball games or minor league stadiums. There are always events that are budget-friendly and FUN. The Biscuits stadium is located in an area that is easy to walk to, and part of the fun downtown. The 2019 schedule is already available online, so you can see if it works with your schedule. Have fun!
