Old Cloverdale Dining in Montgomery, Alabama
On my recent trip to Montgomery, Alabama, we explored the Old Cloverdale neighborhood…and I’m ready to move in! It was a gorgeous area with tree-lined streets and delicious restaurants. Here’s a quick look at Old Cloverdale restaurants and my picks for what to eat, drink, and more.
Derk’s Filet & Vine
431 Cloverdale Road, Montgomery, AL
Filet & Vine Market, Deli, and Bottle Shoppe started in 1997 with partners Derk Lyerly and Jud Blount in Old Cloverdale, Montgomery, Alabama. The deli features gourmet sandwiches, soup and salad bar, and one of Montgomery’s favorite meat and twos.
I was most intrigued by the wide variety of craft beers, both foreign and domestic, and the wide variety of wine. This is definitely a spot to visit if you’re traveling or a local needing a hot meal and a variety of delicious beers to share!
Vintage Café
416 Cloverdale Rd
Built in 1955, the two-story, former Regions and First National Bank building is owned by Café proprietor Jud Blount and his uncle, Tom Blount. Vintage Cafe is a purveyor of only the finest products. Stumptown Coffee is the signature brand served as it is not only one of the best coffee roasters in the U.S. but a like-minded company also focused on the community and providing the best product which Montgomery deserves.
I wish I was a local so I could walk here in the mornings with my dog and have a cup of coffee. The atmosphere was something that I truly treasured, and I enjoyed the simple menu and delicious coffee. I’m an iced coffee drinker year-round, and I was definitely pleased with the quality of options I had.
Vintage Year
405 Cloverdale Rd
From dinner with friends and family to the most memorable special occasions, Vintage Year has been an important part of the fabric of Montgomery’s social scene since 1984. What began as Montgomery’s only specialty wine shop soon became a destination for gourmet lunches to accompany the shop’s extensive selection of wines. Soon dinner entrees were added and the rest is history.
