Lemon Sugar Scrub Recipe

There's nothing I enjoy more than a clean house, the fresh scent of lemon, and a fully stocked linen closet. Foaming hand soaps, a new sugar scrub, and clean towels make my day. Sometimes it's the little things that put a smile on my face! When I saw that Softsoap had a new premium soap, I knew it needed to be on both my kitchen and bathroom counters. With scents like Kitchen Citrus Bliss, Jasmine and White Cotton, and Whipped Cocoa Butter, they would certainly make my home more inviting!

Add a new candle and a wire basket to hold my essentials, and my bathroom and kitchen areas are fresher and smell better. One essential that I try to make every month or so is a scented sugar scrub. Inspired by the Kitchen Citrus Fresh Softsoap scent, I made a batch of this simple sugar scrub. Try it just once, and you'll be impressed!

They're so easy to make, and I often wonder why it took me so long to invest in essential oils to make my own beauty products at home. Use this sugar scrub, rinse with Softsoap, and enjoy clean and smooth hands! Oh, and they're going to smell amazing too.

Lemon Simple Sugar Scrub Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 1 small GLASS mason jar with a lid (do not use plastic with essential oils)
Sugar Scrub Ingredients

Once you gather your ingredients, start mixing! I added 1/4 cup of coconut oil to the sugar and stirred well. I then added another 1/4 cup of coconut oil (approximately) to form a nice, consistent scrub. Add about ten drops of a lemon essential oil, and stir until completely blended. Pour mixture into a jar. Just make sure the jar is glass, and you might need to alter the amount of coconut oil depending on how you want to scrub to feel. Some might want it more wet while others prefer it with less oil.

I used washi tape to decorate my mason jar. I use that stuff for everything. A pop of color goes a long way!
