Hooray for summer! Whether you have plans to take a trip to the coast or are looking for a stay-cation poolside, I have you covered with a summertime guide to make sure that you are ready for this sunny season. It is important to stay hydrated and keep your skin so fresh and so clean when you are traveling, so here are my tips for your next poolside destination. And, yes, as a native Floridian, I feel like I have some knowledge to share!
Before heading out into the sun, it is important to evaluate what items that you have and what things you need to buy. It might sound harmless to head to a hotel pool for an hour or so, but the Florida rays are intense even in the cooler months of winter and spring. Yes, you can still get a sunburn in December in Florida! It depends on the weather, of course, but it IS possible. I created a poolside essentials checklist to provide thought starters for your travel, and feel free to add in your own!
Pool Travel Checklist
Once you have your shopping list, which includes sunscreen of course, head to Target to grab everything that you need. I located Neutrogena Sheer Zinc®, SPF 50 Lotion, 3oz and Sheer Zinc®, SPF 50 Face Lotion, 2oz in the sun care aisle.
When you shop Target, you can score a $5 Target GiftCard with the purchase of $15 in sun care in-store and online (5/21-5/27).
I chose this variety of sun care since Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ offers superior UVA/UVB sun protection that is effective, yet gentle on even sensitive skin. And, bonus, only Neutrogena Sheer Zinc™ has breakthrough Purescreen® technology powered by naturally-sourced,100% zinc oxide.
I was also impressed that this sunscreen featured naturally-sourced zinc oxide and is hypoallergenic. It’s important to note that it is sweat and water resistant (80 minutes), Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), is oil-free, and dermatologist tested.
Since my family has sensitive skin, I was particularly interested in the fact that it was awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance™ as a suitable sunscreen for persons with sensitive skin conditions.
Inside My Pool Bag
When I pack for the pool, I make sure that I have sunscreen, sunglasses, my cell phone in a waterproof case, and a waterproof camera. We like to capture our vacation moments without worrying about the sun, water, or sweat! When we use waterproof cases, we have unique images of swimming, riding roller coasters, or just hanging out poolside.
What is a must-have for your summer vacations?
