Tea Tree Oil is a homeopathic remedy and a natural addition to home cleaning regimens. Tea Tree Oil is also known as Melaleuca alternifolia is and originated in Australia, the only place the plant is grown. Tea Tree Oil is an antiseptic, antifungal, and has antibiotic properties as well. Please note, Tea Tree Oil should never be ingested and only used topically, or on the skin. It can also be used in a diffuser or humidifier.
Heals the Skin
Tea Tree Oil is what you want to grab if you have any type of skin infection. It helps to alleviate the pain and itching associated with acne, cold sores, Athlete’s Foot, and dandruff. You can add a couple drops to your shampoo to help with the dandruff. For the others, add a few drops to a carrier oil like jojoba, sweet almond, or coconut and apply it to the infected area. If you are prone to dry, itchy skin, rub this mixture into your skin at night and wake up with soft, subtle skin by morning.
Since Tea Tree Oil fights and kills germs, bacteria, and fungus, it makes it a great all natural cleaner. Fill a small spray bottle up with water and add 3-5 drops of Tea Tree Oil. You can also add a couple drops of Lemon or Orange Essential Oil to the mix as they both are great for cleaning and smell great. Use this natural cleaner in the kitchen and bathroom knowing that it is safe for your family.
Those same germ fighting benefits can be used in daily dental care. Add a drop into a cup of water and swish around in your mouth for a natural mouthwash. You can also add it to a homemade toothpaste recipe for an added boost.
In your diffuser, add 5 drops of Tea Tree Oil to help open up the airways if breathing has become challenged. This works during asthma attacks as well as when you have difficulty breathing from colds and flus. It helps to fight the germs that are playing havoc with your lungs!
