Graduation Party DIY: Cap Drink Stirrers

It’s time to dust off our scissors and get our DIY on! For all of you with graduates this spring, we have an easy graduation party DIY  today. Just a little something to add to your bash to make your guests think you are an entertaining goddess (or god). We are whipping up some Cap Drink Stirrers to add to your graduation party decor. Whether you’re serving cocktails or sodas, these little stirrers are just the cutest touch.

Graduation Cap Stirrers

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Black card stock (or any color of your choice)
  • Twine (for your tassel)
  • Pop sticks
  • Double sided tape

Here’s what to do:

Cut out 1″ x 1″ squares for the tops of your cap. Then cut out a rectangle about 2.5″ long and a 1/2″ inch wide. This is your cape base. Form the rectangle into a circle and secure with double sided tape. Now, attach the circle to the top of the cap (the square) with double sided tape. There’s your cap!

Now you need the tassel. Cut off a 12″ piece of twine and keep folding in half until you have 3.5″ piece. Tie a knot more towards the end of the string. Cut any pieces that are looped together at the end to create the fringe.  Attach to the top of your cap with the double sided tape. Now just add some more double sided tape to the inside of your cap and attach to the pop stick.

Voila! You’ve made a graduation party DIY. If you can cut and tape, then you can do this!
