Best Bass Fishing Spots Around the World
When it comes to bass fishing, the opportunities are seemingly endless – from seas to lakes and rivers all around the world. So, let's take a look at some of the top bass fishing destinations for keen bass anglers.

South West Coast, England
In the UK, bass fishing is a big deal – so much so that it has long since inspired a wide range of different media. Just take online slot games, for example – casino enthusiasts in the UK can play the Big Bass Splash slot game, as well as the rest of the popular Big Bass franchise, which uses classic iconography such as fish, fishermen, bait boxes, and fishing trucks. These thematics create an authentic and immersive bass fishing-themed casino experience. And, if you want to try bass fishing in person, well the South West coast is the place to go.
Both Cornwall and Devon have some excellent bass fishing spots. In Cornwall, the bays to the west of St Ives are a bit more out of the way of the touristy area, whilst still providing conditions for an excellent catch. In Devon, perhaps the best bass fishing spot is Noss Mayo – but be aware this is a known fact, so it can get busy. Much of the coastline's rocky outcrops have big bass, so it's always worth a punt if you're in a pinch.
Western Mexico
Western Mexico is internationally known for its trophy largemouth bass and big bass. This is due to the unique habitat that the lakes in the region have to offer. One of these famed lakes is Lake El Salto, where the highest recorded weight of a bass caught in the waters amounts to a whopping 18lb and 6oz! According to the Angler's Channel, the best time to visit the lake is between May and June. This is when the water is at its lowest, making your catch more likely. That said, it can be easy to catch bass in the double digits no matter when you arrive.
Another excellent bass fishing destination in western Mexico is Lake Baccarac – another lake where catching trophy-sized bass in the double digits can be expected. Situated at the foot of the Sierra Madre Mountains, there is also a lodge on site which can serve as a great base for your bass fishing adventures.
Florida
Of course, we had to mention the bass fishing opportunities in Florida – and there's plenty! It just depends on your preferences. Lake Okeechobee is one of the largest lakes in Florida, and is worth a visit for any big bass angler. Or, Lake Kissimmee has an average of 6lb for the bass caught in its waters – with the occasional trophy bass as well.
Unlike some spots, St John's River is great for bass fishing all year round. Whilst it might not be as well known, largemouth bass are becoming more common in the river thanks to a variety of structure and cover. Stick Marsh has shallow waters and a no-harvest regulation, making it great for bass. And, finally, for tourists in Orlando, Lake Tohopekaliga is a short drive away.
And there you have it – just a few of the top locations for catching bass around the world. All that's left to do is get your kit together and hit the road. Happy fishing!
