Paleo-Friendly Drinks for Halloween

With October right around the corner, the weather is going to start dropping. That means whipping out all the warm Halloween drinks like my favorite apple cider and sweet pumpkin spice lattes. However, most of these popular drinks are not made for a paleo diet. Whether you’re on a Whole30 or want to try one, here are some healthier ways to make your favorite drinks this fall.

Spiced Cider: Do you love apple cider as much as I do?! It’s a must this season, and you can definitely enjoy it. Look for apple cider that is organic and all-natural with NO sugar added or preservatives. You can make it from scratch if you’d like. When you make it yourself, add cinnamon sticks, appspice berries, cardamom pods, and nutmeg.

Pumpkin Spice Latte: Pumpkin spice latte is my all-time favorite holiday drink. With the caffeine you crave and that pumpkin spice flavor you look forward to each and every year, you can make this without using sugar or dairy. Pumpkin spice latte on the paleo diet requires coconut milk, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon, ginger, coconut whipped cream, and a little pumpkin puree. Boil all your ingredients in a pot then pour into a mug for the perfect pumpkin spice latte.

Pumpkin Tea Latte: Pumpkin tea lattes are unfortunately made with dairy and other ingredients you can’t have on a paleo diet. To make a pumpkin spice paleo-friendly you can make it with tea and some simple spices. You will want to use organic black tea with coconut milk and coconut oil. pure maple syrup, and vanilla bean powder. The seasonings you will want to use are ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg. All you have to do is brew your tea and tada! you have a pumpkin spice latte.

These drinks are simple to make, don’t require a lot of ingredients you don’t already have, and can really help you enjoy Halloween a little better. It is a good reminder that all your favorite things have an alternative that is healthier and paleo-friendly. So enjoy the fall season this year by whipping you up a hot Halloween drink.
