Key Lime Michelada Cocktail Recipe
I didn’t know what a michelada was either. I had thought I had seen them in stores or on menus before, but I never paid much attention. If you like Bloody Marys, keep reading. If the idea of mixing hot sauce and beer makes your stomach churn, stop by and read one of my other cocktail recipes. Trust me, this drink is not for the weak!
It’s a beautiful, bubbly drink that packs a punch. While I enjoy Bloody Marys from time to time, they are not my “go to” brunch cocktail. So when I set out to make a drink with soy sauce, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I saw a variety of recipes that included hot sauce, black pepper, worcestershire sauce, and tomato juice, but I knew I wanted to use lime juice and fresh key limes.
I also made sure to buy margarita salt for the rim of the glass and a Mexican beer.

The result? A seriously salty and spicy drink that is sure to knock your socks off.
The color is beautiful, and the key limes are a fun touch. I prefer key limes in case you couldn’t tell from my previous posts. The tiny lime slivers are fun to photograph and add to a drink.
I had set out to create a drink using soy sauce when I was selected for a Cornish game hen campaign with Kikkoman. I thought a spicy drink would be a fun way to add a beer cocktail to the menu, but this drink is best on its own or as a brunch brew.
