Give Kids A Smile: Free Bathroom Printables

It is important to create a routine when you have children in your home. I am learning that if we do the same thing day in and day out, everything just goes so much more smoothly! My son craves a morning and evening routine, and I have seen adorable printables or checklists to help guide us on this journey. I decided to create a few printables myself to help remind my family (and yours too!) about a few bathroom things that you just cannot forget! These printables can help you encourage children’s dental health care in the U.S., and I’m going to talk about Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) helps children learn more about oral health.
Even though there are options for Medicaid and improvements in children’s dental care under the Affordable Care Act, there are way too many children that still suffer from tooth decay. Did you know that tooth decay affects 42% of children ages 2 to 11 in the US? Almost 50% of minority, underserved, and Medicaid recipients suffer from untreated cases. Over the course of the past 15 years (since GKAS started), over half a million volunteers have given their time and talents to provide oral health services to children who might not receive them. This year, 2017, we are celebration the program’s 15 year anniversary. This program has expanded to a series of over 1,300 events in all 50 states and has received the support of the American Dental Association. More than 5.5 million underserved children will be reached!

These are 4 x 6 PDFs that you can print and hang in your bathroom to remind your children (and your entire family!) of proper oral hygiene. It also is a good talking point to share how some children in our country may not receive the dental care they need. There is an ongoing need for oral health care among children in the United States, and GKAS is here to help. I think this cause is very important since I have a son who sometimes to forget to brush his teeth. I know that it is important to set a good example for him, and I made these simple printables to add color to our bathroom. It’s a small reminder, but it might help!
