DIY Fall Scented Bathroom Potpourri
We recently moved into a smaller townhouse, and we got rid of just about everything in the move. It has been an adjustment for sure. Knick knacks and other home decor items were tossed since they are easy to replace, and each room has been essentially bare of any color since. Since my wife’s favorite color is teal, we went a little crazy with blue chalk paint this weekend. Here’s how we upgraded our half bathroom with easy fall decor and cleaned our space easily with Scotch-Brite™ Brand.
Since we spend a lot of time at Target already (our four year old son can’t get enough of walking aimlessly around the aisles with a bag of fresh popped popcorn), we picked up our supplies in the cleaning supply aisle. We needed our new bathroom to be sparkling clean.
With a sparkly clean bathroom, now it’s time to make it smell fresh! The scents of fall are my favorite, and we like earthy scents like pine, cinnamon, and cedarwood. To make the bathroom stay fresh smelling, try this DIY bathroom spray and potpourri.
Supplies:
- Paint brush
- Chalk paint (or your favorite kind of paint)
- A bowl or dish
- Pine cones
- Essential oil (we used cedarwood)
You can leave your glassware clear, but my wife wanted to add some color to the bathroom since this is basically “her” room. This is where she gets ready in the mornings, and the decor is almost all teal. The chalk paint is fun to use since it dries really quick and adds some texture to the glass. It’s not completely opaque.
You can find pine cones to use in your backyard like we did. Add a bit of fragrance with a few drops of essential oil.
When the glass is dry, add the pine cones gently inside. It may take a bit of rearranging to find the perfect fit.
Sometimes all it takes is a clean sink, a freshly scrubbed toilet, and a new scent to make your bathroom feel as if its been upgraded. Since we lack space in our bathroom, it is important to use every inch intentionally. There is no room for clutter!
Trinket bowls and dishes hold things like jewelry, hair ties, and cotton swabs so that everything has its place.
