Making your own cleaning supplies is a great way to clean your home for less. It is also perfect for the person who wants to clean with minimal chemicals and artificial ingredients. If you want to make your own cleaning supplies but don’t know where to begin, take a look below. You will find some helpful information on how to make your own cleaning supplies using Dollar Tree materials. Making your own cleaning supplies is a healthy way to clean your home, now you will find it can be cheap too!
To begin, here are some of the supplies you will need. Your local dollar store should carry all of these products for just $1 each. Supplies needed are:
- Vinegar
- Lemon juice
- Baking soda
- Hair spray
- Spray bottles
- Soft clothes
- Toothbrush
- Mixing bowls
- Labels
Now, let’ s see what products you can make with these ingredients!
- Sink and Surface Cleaner.
This sink and surface cleaner is perfect for bathroom and kitchen sinks, tubs, and counters. It is lightly abrasive, so don’t use it on any surfaces that may scratch easily. To make your sink and surface cleaner, mix ½ cup of baking soda, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, and a few drops of lemon juice into a bowl. Mix until a paste forms. To use, simply apply to the surface with a soft cloth and scrub. Rinse clean. - Grout cleaner.
Make grout shine when you mix up a batch of this grout cleaner. To make, mix ¼ cup of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix until a paste forms. Use the toothbrush to apply the paste to the grout and scrub. Rinse clean. Use a label to mark the toothbrush so you can use it next time you need to scrub a small space.
- Glass cleaner.
Make glass sparkle when you fill a spray bottle with vinegar and use it in place of basic glass cleaner. Be sure to use a label to mark the bottle so you know what it is. If you wish, you can add a few drops of lemon juice to make it smell great. - Stain remover.
¼ cup of hair spray and ½ cup of vinegar in a spray bottle. Use to remove surface stains on hard surfaces. It works great at removing pen, crayon, and pencil. Be sure to label the spray bottle so you know the contents.
