Banana Breeze Cocktail: Banana Rum Drinks

Banana rum drinks? Yes, please! This week has certainly been interesting. Between my husband traveling for Shark Week and a few writing assignments that were due, I’ve been busier than ever. Oh, and we all woke up sick this morning. I blame my husband’s long airplane ride. Anyway, on to happier things. Cocktails! As I continue my series of Shark Week inspired concoctions, here is a fruity mix. I’m calling it the Banana Breeze since it’s the kind of drink to enjoy on a breezy afternoon.

I received quite a few mini bottles of liquor lately, and they are something I recommend buying for yourself more often! I have a variety of cocktails on hand since I have a lot of liquor to sample. It’s hard to commit to buying a large bottle of liquor if it’s a new flavor or if you have convinced yourself that you’ll never finish it. Flavored rums are delicious, but I can’t imagine my husband wanting to enjoy something this fruity. So, the small bottle of Cruzan Banana Rum was perfect. Just enough for one drink…but it has inspired me to perhaps buy a larger size. We are planning for another party, so I can imagine this getting a lot of use.

As for my other cocktail ingredients, I again used the Simply Orange with Banana along with a mango nectar (look in the international aisle at your grocery store!). The combination was a sweet blend of fruits that hid the taste of alcohol completely. Dangerous? Perhaps. These go down WAY too easily. 😉
