Hosting a party can get expensive real quick. From party decor and party favors to food and drinks, the cost of a party can add up. Below are items that you can save money on by picking them up at your local Dollar Tree.
Party Crepe Paper Streamers – pick up a roll of the color to match your party to stream from the ceiling or in doorways.
Confetti – an inexpensive way to decorate a table is to sprinkle some confetti that matches your party theme.
Balloons – Dollar Tree not only sells balloons, but they also fill them with helium for you. They have both latex balloons in bags and mylar balloons with a variety of themes on them.
Birthday Banner – if you are hosting a birthday party don’t forget to pick up a Happy Birthday banner to hang across the wall, perfect addition to your cake table for only a dollar.
Party Games – a simple way to decorate one wall of the party is to hang a game on the wall to play. Pin the tail on the donkey is a popular game among kids. You can usually find party games in the party isle of Dollar Tree or purchase craft supplies to make your own.
Table Centerpiece – while browsing the party isle search for the best centerpiece for your party theme. Another great idea for only a dollar is to purchase the foil balloon weights with stars in the color of your party scheme to use on the table. If your party is geared around a holiday check the seasonal aisle for a centerpiece. Create a fun autumn centerpiece with these budget-friendly ideas!
Wrapping Paper and Gift Bags – if you are hosting a birthday party for your child match the paper you wrap their presents with to the party theme. This way the presents add to the decorations on the tabletop.
Invitations – you cannot have a party without guests. Handwritten invitations may be old school but people still love receiving mail. You can find a package of 8 for only $1. Buy some pretty colored pens to fill them out. Feeling digital? You can use Gmass to send email invites for a low price!
Thank You Cards – teach your kids young to be thankful by having them create thank you notes after their birthday party.
Table Cloth – there are many colors to select from at your local dollar store.
Party Plates & Cups – paper party plates and cups are great for quick clean up. Don’t forget a package of labels or marker to add each guest’s name to their cup.
Plasticware – forks, spoons, and knives in multiple colors to match your table setting.
Cake Knife – every party needs a cake knife for slicing and serving party guests.
Party Favors – if the party is for little kids then you are sure to hit the jackpot at your local dollar store for party favors. Check out the party aisle and the toy aisle for ideas. Small coloring books, puzzles, and stickers are great party favors.
Party Favor Bags – you can find several size party favor bags usually in a package of 8 for only a dollar.
Serving Bowls and Trays – display your food and treats on a nice plastic serving tray that matches your color scheme. No need to buy glass when hosting a party, you only risk it getting broke.
Snacks & Candy – you can fill the party treat bags with candy or create a candy buffet at your party. Popcorn, peanuts, and pretzels are some easy snacks to offer at your party and can all be found at your dollar store. You can make a candy buffet and stock up on these dollar snacks!
