It’s that time of year again! Pack up the pantry, stock up on school supplies, and get ready to load up the car for drop off! Back to school season is here, and there is nothing I love more than a fresh closet of clean school clothes and freshly sharpened pencils.
I go wild about back to school supplies, and I find myself drawn to lunchbox snacks (even as an adult!). Now that my son is heading into first grade, I’m letting him make his own choices for what is in his lunchbox. Lucky for us, we found Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks which is made with real fruit and surrounded with creamy yogurt and paired nicely in our back to school trail mix recipe.
Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks are so delicious and fun to eat and my son loves the flavor and size. I also enjoy how easy they are to take on the go, and I can throw them in my tote when we head to a theme park or a day at the beach too. From lunchboxes to tee ball, they have a place in our everyday life.
To blend a few of my son’s favorite flavors, we decided to make a trail mix recipe to stock up our snack pantry. We like to make snacks ahead of time or have easily prepared options (like Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks!) so that we can grab them in a hurry.
To prepare our back to school trail mix, we loaded up with the Strawberry flavor of Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks. Next, we used colorful mini marshmallows, banana chips, chocolate covered nuts, and a few other fun surprises. If you want to use a premixed trail mix to create this, go for it. Otherwise, look for dried fruit (like pineapple, apple chips, or banana chips) to pair with chocolate chips and the Welch’s Fruit ‘n Yogurt Snacks. You can’t go wrong with this combination!
We mixed everything up in a large container and used plastic bags to seal off portions for later.
My son loved to help! And, he may or may not have enjoyed a few treats while we mixed everything up.
