Do you create resolutions with your family? You should. Inspire your entire family to take positive action this year.
Sometimes I’m too busy writing my own goals and resolutions that I forget that I should make resolutions with my entire family. It would make us focused during the incoming year. One important resolution that I have is to include education on our list. This means continuing our involvement with Florida Prepaid.
What is Florida Prepaid?
Florida Prepaid is the largest, longest running and most successful prepaid program in the nation and we are here to help Florida families understand the importance of investing in education and make it is easy to do so. Florida Prepaid offers two types of savings options: Prepaid Plans and 529 savings plans. There are five different types of Prepaid Plans, and they can only be purchased during Open Enrollment (which usually runs from Oct.-Feb.).Every college savings plan opened with us represents an investment in a child’s future, and in our state.
A few other resolutions that we created were in traveling, finances, and organization.
You can track your resolutions with this printable:
So, let’s dive into our resolutions!
Education. We want to educate our son throughout the year. I have a daily goal to incorporate reading into our routine, and I also want to read myself. Reading will help my son grow and learn, and reading my own books in my spare time will boost by brand and business. I typically read social media or personal development books, so I am constantly learning. Additionally, my husband is seeking employment in the education sector. So, as you can see, education is going to be a foundation of our everyday life this year.
Financial. We hope to own a home one day, and we are working on this daily. We are saving, taking on additional work, and budgeting big purchases. However, we also know how important it is to continue to pay our student loans and work on our taxes. This is why I keep Florida Prepaid in the back of my mind. I never want my son to know what it is like to pay a portion of our earnings each and every month to slowly pay down our educational debt. One fun story is that my husband and I met in graduate school. It was the most expensive match-making service ever! 😉
While I know my student loan debt will take a lifetime to pay off, I know that there are options for my son. I have educated myself on the options, the various plans that Florida Prepaid offers meet our family needs. You can choose from the 1-Year Florida University Plan, 2-Year Florida College Plan, 4-Year Florida College Plan, 2+2 Florida College Plan, or the 4-Year Florida University Plan. Each plan is flexible so you can find one for your family.
Travel. We are looking to do 12 trips this year. Even if they are “stay-cations,” I am making it a priority to spend more time together and experience new adventures!
Don’t Miss Out!
