The first thing you noticed is the touchscreen that changes its settings depending on what attachment is on it. Whether it is the food processor or the single serving cup, the base will customize your options. At the heart of the product is still a Ninja blender with its super-powered motor and durable design. We’ve used a Ninja as our primary blender and food processor for the last few years, which earned it a reputation for being dependable.
The system also comes with an inspirational recipe guide that will help you get the most out of your Ninja system. The spiralizer attachment was something we were excited to test out so we came up with a relatively quick and easy recipe that was also healthy. After a trip to the local farmer’s market, we got everything to make our own red sauce from scratch, including Florida-grown tomatoes, peppers, and mushrooms.
- 5 large ripe tomatoes
- 5 large zucchini
- 1 bell pepper
- 1/2 red onion
- 1 cup white mushrooms
- 1/4 cup fresh basil
- 2 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. herbs de provence
- Salt and pepper
- Quarter tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms and place in food processor with basil, garlic, oil and herbs. Puree on low speed.
- Transfer sauce to medium sauce pan and cook over high heat for 7-10 minutes. add salt and pepper to taste and reduce heat to low. let simmer for 20-30 additional minutes.
- Cut ends off zucchini. Using Ninja spiralizer, cut zucchini into "noodles" and place in steamer pot. Steam noodles until al dente.
- Serve by pouring sauce over noodles. Garnish with a sprinkle of herbs and a fresh basil leaf.
