Sometimes you just know. We have two dogs in our home, and they both have their own quirks. One is a ‘new to us’ rescue pup who grew up eating an unknown kind of dog food. Our other dog is our family pet who has been with us since he was a puppy, but he recently has developed issues with the food that he eats. We wanted to try something new to see how it worked with our animals, and we were thrilled to discover that you can now find Nature’s Recipe at Walmart! Before, we could only find it at a specialty store, but now it is right there alongside our everyday essentials and groceries. It is so easy to find.
Once my dog started getting older and also started having issues eating, along with digestive problems, I knew the Nature’s Recipe Grain Free Chicken Wet Dog food would be an awesome way to offer softer food for his teeth and introduce a grain free diet!
Pro tip: If you are switching your pup to another brand of dog food, start off slowly. Offer up a little bit mixed with their old food for a few days, then half and half, then provide only the new food.
With high quality protein, no corn, wheat, or soy, and no artificial colors or preservatives, it was a no brainer to try Nature’s Recipe with our dogs. I also liked that there was no poultry by-product meal, and the recipes are crafted to bring out the best in my dogs. I wanted my pets to feel their most vibrant self each day, and Nature’s Recipe helps them do that. With a lot of grain-free options that not a lot of other brands offer, it is my new go-to at Walmart.
With better digestion and softer food, my older dog can live his fullest life each day! He is less lazy and can even climb the stairs unassisted. He has less upset stomach issues and we are no longer waking up to accidents. Score! I started with half of his old food, half of the new food, and I used the wet food in the 2.75 ounce containers as a topper.
My second dog grew up eating an unknown dog food, so when we brought him into our home recently, we weren’t sure where to start. Was he used to dry food, wet food, or a mix of both? How was his stomach? So, since our older dog needed to eat new dog food, we gave Nature’s Recipe a whirl for him too.
We found that he prefers dry AND wet food along with several meals throughout the day. He is a growing boy! Our older dog barely eats his morning food and prefers dinnertime meals, so it is a change to have such a motivated eater in our home!
The four pound bag of Nature’s Recipe Dry Chicken dog food is a good price and had several additional flavors. Since real chicken was the #1 ingredient, I knew the flavor would make my pups happy. And, like I mentioned before, I can score this dog food on my weekly grocery trip at Walmart without having to make an extra stop at a pet specialty store. I feel like I’m saving time, MONEY, and gas!
