Thanks to Applebee’s for inviting my family for dinner to sample their new menu!
When I heard that Applebee’s had introduced new hand-cut wood-fired offerings including USDA Choice Top Sirloin Steaks and Bone-in Pork Chops to their menu, I knew we needed to pencil in a family dinner to try out these new dishes! Applebee’s recently announced its new American-made, wood-fired grills as the centerpiece of nearly 2,000 U.S. locations and is inviting guests to follow the enticing aroma of American Oak smoke into their neighborhood Applebee’s to try a new Hand-Cut, Wood Fired Grill item.
The new certified USDA Choice Hand-Cut Wood Fired Steaks and Bone-In Pork Chops are hand-cut by trained meat cutters through a comprehensive process to ensure the highest quality, freshness and optimal thickness. The restaurants have renovated kitchens, revamped menus and selected these trained chefs to be the official in-house Meat Cutters where they start with a whole sirloin or bone-in pork rack, evaluate and then cut each perfect steak or chop with their American-made knife exclusively designed forApplebee’s meat cutters.
New on the Menu
- 8 oz. and 6 oz. Hand-cut USDA Choice Top Sirloin Steaks
- Hand-cut Bone-in Pork Chops with Honey Apple Chutney
- Cedar-grilled Salmon with Maple Mustard Glaze
- Grilled chicken breast
Additionally, meats and vegetables prepared on the new wood-fired grills will be featured in many other guest favorites – from appetizers to salads – adding the right amount of mild smokiness to each bite. The installation of wood-fired grills in 43 Doherty Enterprises-owned and operated Florida and Georgia locations, along with the more than 60 thousand hours of training for meat cutters, is part of a combined $40 million investment by Applebee’s franchisees.
My husband and I both tried the new steaks in both the 6 oz and 8 oz sizes. I opted for french fries and potatoes as my side while my husband tried the new four-cheese mac and cheese and green beans.
