Did you already give up your New Year’s resolutions? It can be kind of overwhelming to go into a new year without a plan, but there are certain small swaps that you can do to ENJOY your everyday. I’m not the kind of person who will give up my favorite food…instead, I make simple changes that I can easily accomplish. I know that I love french fries, and I know that I can’t just swear off comfort foods. However, I recently discovered Alexia Smart Classics Roasted Crinkle Cut Fries and I realized I wouldn’t have to!
Alexia Smart Classics are 98% fat-free and 100 calories per serving. They satisfy my potato craving without all the calories. It’s also a simple appetizer with a lot of flavor. To add a bit of spice to my favorite french fries, I made these poutine-inspired appetizers.
Poutine is a dish made with french fries and cheese curds, and I wanted to add a few fresh vegetables to my own version. Since I love bruschetta, I knew tomatoes had to be a part of this simple appetizer. And, of course, mozzarella balls! I rounded out the dish with basil, diced peppers, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
Get started with Alexia Foods. I chose this variety, and I baked them to perfection. While still warm, I added cheese. It made the dish nice and soft, and it was a fun topping for this family-friendly appetizer.
