There’s no shortage of new things to explore in Tampa, but some stand out among the rest. Whether you’re considering relocating, or just planning a visit, be sure to check out these hot spots. And, while you’re out exploring what’s going on around town, don’t forget to stop and grab noosa® yoghurt!
SoHo (South Howard): If you’re looking for nightlife, you’ll want to stop here. Best known for the 4.5 miles of uninterrupted sidewalk that runs along Bayshore Boulevard, this neighborhood attracts walkers, runners and bikers, too. You’ll find unique retails spaces and upscale shops in Hyde Park, a sub-neighborhood. Ducky’s boasts a “boutique sports lounge” experience, including mini-bowling and innovative bar foods, while Wine Exchange Bistro & Wine Bar brings an eclectic menu to the table, including teas and coffees. Here, a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment or condo will cost about $2,000 a month to rent.
Seminole Heights: This neighborhood, full of tree-shaded, restored homes from the 1900’s, has made a huge comeback. Visit the Sunday Morning Market, held on the Hillsborough High School lawn, which features more than 70 vendors with a green and renewable focus. The Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa is a non-denominational spiritual center with a full calendar of classes and events. From world religion classes, adult Sunday school, pet blessings, classes to dig up your genealogical roots, and regular film viewings, there really is something to interest everyone. Hungry? Stop into the Mermaid Tavern for an order of truffle fries with spicy garlic sauce, roasted acorn squash and “drunk grilled cheese.” Finish off with white chocolate-wasabi semifreddo! (You read all of that right!) If you visit them on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you’ll be guaranteed unique live music and entertainment. Here, a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house will cost about $1,300 a month.
For the Kids
Bringing the kiddos? Browse Little Peeps, a boutique children’s clothing & furniture store unlike the big box places. Need to relax for a minute? Visit PlayGrounds, an indoor play place for kids and coffee lounge for adults! If you need to keep them busy all day, take them to MOSI’s Imagination Playground. The locals are raving about this new spot, that enables kids to engineer anything imaginable.
