With the back to school season approaching, morning coffee makers are brewing! Coffee certainly keeps me going on those busy mornings, but I am trying to find a new way to enjoy my coffee. I typically like it sweet and overly creamy, but that kind of coffee is not exactly good for my waistline. Instead of energizing me, the sugary sweet brew ends up draining me. One way that I’ve changed my morning routine is with a simple coffee swap. I’ve ditched the extra creamer and sugar and instead opt for a morning protein shake for the boost I need.

Coffee Protein Shake Recipe
To make your own morning coffee shake, all you need is one packet of EAS protein powder in chocolate, a cup of ice, a cup of milk, and one cup of brewed coffee.
You can add more ice if you would like a thicker consistency. I also recommend that you either cold brew your coffee or put it in the refrigerator before blending in this recipe. Otherwise, your hot coffee will instantly melt your ice cubes!
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
- 1 cup of brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 cup of skim milk
- 1 cup of ice cubes
- Combine all ingredients together in a blender.
- Blend until desired consistency.
- Add additional ice cubes if you would like a thicker coffee.

This is a simple and delicious way to add protein to your morning coffee, and it is a better-for-you coffee. Skip the “fraps” and the “iced coffees” from your favorite coffeeshop that are loaded with extra sugar and too much cream. This recipe is a delicious swap with less calories, but it doesn’t skimp on taste!
