Yellow is one of my favorite colors. I enjoy this hue since it reminds me of happiness, summer, and fun. When I wanted to host a small get togther for girlfriends, I decided to find everything I could to make a sunshine party. To make this shindig a bit more interesting, we enjoyed PIE! This sunshine pie party has a few ideas that you can use to create your own happiness party! Whether you’re planning a book club or a beachy summer event, try adding yellow. And pie. Lots of pie.
To get started with your event, you’re going to beed to plan the menu. Since this was a girlfriends party with gossip and wine, I wanted to just serve dessert. Specifically, EDWARDS® Whole Pies. I shopped at Walmart to pick up both EDWARDS® Lemon Meringue Pie and Turtle Pie to appeal to all my guests. For the purpose of this post, I focused just on the lemon. It’s a delightful treat that is easy to serve!
Pie goes well with just about anything, but you can try a refreshing lemonade recipe to get started. Infuse your beverage with fresh fruit like strawberries or even mint.
Once the menu is set, consider the table decor. Use striped straws and plastic goblets for drinking along with a fresh tablecloth.
I reuse shower curtains sometimes when I can’t find just the right tablecloth. You can also use kraft paper to make placemats or gift wrap!
Make sure to have a cake stand for your desserts and enough coordinating plates to serve your guests. One thing that is always forgotten is a good cake knife! Don’t forget to grab one when you shop.
Set up a fun and interactive station for your guests. Whether it’s a make your own cocktail bar or a photo booth, these little extras make the party way more fun. They are also EASY to do! For this sunshine party, I took out my yellow instant camera so we could take silly photos in a hurry!
Enjoy a slice of pie while your film develops, and have fun in the sun!
This lemon meringue pie hit the spot for sure. It was a creamy blend of lemon and graham cracker crust that was easy to slice and serve. Since the pie is kept frozen until the party, it was a no fuss way to decorate and prepare a party!
While the pie thawed, I prepared lemonade, set up a pretty tablescape, and welcomed guests. Once the pleasantries were out of the way, the pie was thawed and ready to go!
How do you prepare for parties? Do you like lemon meringue pie too?
