Cool off this summer with a refreshing minty lemonade recipe. This is one of my go to summertime mocktails that pairs nicely with the sweet and spicy flavor of a DIGIORNO Pizzeria!™ Thin pizza! When I plan get togethers or parties, I try to use short cuts when I can. I make things that I love (like cocktails and desserts), but I use easy options like pizza to save time in the kitchen. New Pizzeria!™ Thin pizzas are topped with the 100% real cheese, premium meats, vegetables picked at the peak of ripeness and have no artificial flavors, so you’ll only taste delicious ingredients.
A simple spread with fresh lemonade and a fast appetizer or meal like pizza can come together in a hurry. Let’s get started! First, stop by your local grocery store and look for DIGIORNO Pizzeria!™ Thin pizza. They have a few new flavors:
- Supreme Speciale: Topped with caramelized onions, red & green peppers, premium pepperoni, Italian sausage
- Primo Pepperoni: Topped with premium pepperoni
- Margherita (unique to Thin): Topped with diced roma tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella, parmesan, romano and asiago cheeses
- Spinach & Mushroom (unique to Thin): Topped with spinach, garlic, mushrooms
I went straight for the primo pepperoni since it’s a flavor my entire family enjoys. After I preheated the oven, I placed the frozen pizza in the oven for a few minutes.
While the pizza was cooking, I made a fresh lemonade recipe!
You can use pre-made lemonade if you really want to save even more time, or you can squeeze it yourself! After you make your lemonade, you add fresh sprigs of mint and sliced strawberries. I really like to make infused water, and this lemonade combines my favorite fruity water combination in a sweet summer drink like lemonade.
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice
- 1 gallon cold water
- 1 sliced lemon
- 1 cup of sliced strawberries
- Mint sprigs
- In a gallon pitcher, add sugar and hot water. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add lemon juice and cold water to fill the pitcher.
- Stir well.
- Garnish with mint sprigs and sliced strawberries.
- Pour into glasses filled with ice.
You can also add lime slices, basil, or even rosemary depending on your flavor preferences. I just love the combination of sweet with mint!
Once the pizza is done, remove from the oven to cool. Use a pizza cutter to slice. The DIGIORNO Pizzeria!™ Thin pizzas are rectangle shaped, so you can cut slices like this or squares. It’s the perfect size for a family get together or an appetizer idea. The flavor options are also better than just regular frozen pizza. It’s much more flavorful!
DIGIORNO is introducing Pizzeria!™ Thin, an entirely new pizza. Crafted with care, using carefully selected ingredients, Pizzeria!™ Thin puts the proof in the Pizzeria! as one of DIGIORNO’s most delicious pizzas yet.
DIGIORNO Pizzeria!™ Thin starts with a preservative-free crust that is proofed for nearly 90 minutes before being baked in a 700 degree oven for a thin and crispy crust. With a unique, homemade shape the Pizzeria!™ Thin crust is drizzled with extra virgin olive oil for a hint of flavor and then topped with a specially-crafted sauce made from scratch using vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, thyme and oregano.
DIGIORNO is excited to hear what fans think of the new Pizzeria!™ Thin pizzas. It is asking consumers to taste for themselves and then visit the DIGIORNO Facebook or Twitter page (@DiGiornoPizza), to share feedback and pictures using the hashtag #YouBeTheJudge.
