Have you ordered your holiday cards yet? Or, are you just waiting to receive them in the mail? Once your friends and family start sending you their holiday greetings, I know you will need a place to display them. This might be an idea to display your family card on your mantle or perhaps a few of your favorites that you receive. It’s a frugal yet decorative way to display your holiday greeting cards! You can craft your own wine cork card holder in just minutes using just handful of old wine corks.
Those holiday cards will arrive before you know it! You can also use this as a fun table setting or place card holder. There are a lot of possibilities!
- 9 wine corks of similar size
- Hot glue, glue gun
- Serrated knife
If you don’t have wine corks, you can buy some at your local craft store. Or, just ask your friends to save theirs!
- Begin by laying four corks next to each other side by side. Apply a strip of hot glue to the sides and press the corks together to create the base of the holder.
- You will now apply a second layer of corks above these four. Take three corks and apply them with glue to the top of the four cork base.
- Your holder is almost complete. Glue two more corks to the top of the three corks. You will now notice a pyramid shape forming.
Place your greeting cards in between the split of the top two corks. You will notice how the corks hold the card nicely in place. Gather a handful of wine corks and give this wine cork card holder a try. It is a fun way to use old corks and display your holiday cards at the same time.
Do you have your own special way to display greeting cards? I’d love to hear it!
