Since it’s Fourth of July weekend, I know the festivities didn’t end last night. Today, July 5th, there are countless other Patriotic events and cook-outs. We are actually heading to another fireworks show at a local baseball stadium. This holiday weekend feels extended, and I’m happy to indulge in all the BBQs, baseball games, and watermelon I can handle! One of our staple July 4th foods is a cheesy burger. For our menu this year, I used the Blippar App for inspiration to create a spicy cheeseburger using Kraft cheese. It was a major win.
I first downloaded the Blippar App to my iPhone and hit the grocery store. You can download blippar for free on your apple, android, blackberry or windows device.
I was looking for cheeseburger essentials, including Kraft singles. I picked White American cheese since it’s something I hadn’t cooked with in quite a while. I found the cheese in a large case. Then, it was time to “blip.”
Blippar recognizes product packaging and unlocks recipes, rewards, and more.
After it recognized my packaging, it popped up the Great American Bacon Cheeseburger menu. I could view recipes, take a picture with Brad Paisley, register to earn Paisley Points, or visit their website.
After browsing a few of the recipes in the store, I knew I wanted to combine two of them. My favorite cheeseburger includes grilled peppers and diced tomatoes (or pico de gallo if I’m feeling up to making it!). I loved the All-American Steakburger and the Steakhouse Cheeseburger recipes. Everything was easy to find within the app, and the recipes were simple. It was great having my shopping list ready to go after scanning the cheese slices. I knew I wouldn’t miss an ingredient since it was displayed on my phone.
Oh, and there is a bit of Brad Paisley involved too! Take your picture with Brad and register to start earning Paisley Points. This is an awesome idea since I’m already buying these products anyway. To get rewarded for something I already do is a fun bonus. You can earn a variety of points based on what you buy (For example, I earned 30 points for buying a pack of the Kraft singles). You can redeem your points for Walmart gift cards or Brad Paisley merchandise. Very cool!
But, back to my cheeseburger. Inspired by the Blippar app recipes, we grilled peppers and onions to top our cheeseburgers. I also used Miracle Whip as a topping with diced tomatoes. This was one spicy, and flavorful, Fourth of July burger. For the complete recipes on the Blippar App, download it now!
Besides the Kraft cheese slices, the peppers were my favorite addition to my burger. Sometimes I forget that red peppers make such a sweet ingredient on a burger, but they are well worth the preparation. For more cheeseburger inspiration, visit Kraft online.
So, what will you top your cheeseburger with? Do you use the Blippar app?
