I am a big believer in setting realistic, measurable goals throughout the year. 2013 was one of the best years that we have had together as a family (just ask my husband, he may have shouted this at the bar after a few drinks). While some of my personal and business related goals were not met, several of my family and friends goals were. I managed to visit home a few times, attend one of my best friend’s weddings, hosted a few parties at our new home, and had a lot of babysitting help from the grandmas. This led to a few mini weekends away–both with and without our kiddo.
I shared my family and home binder yesterday, and one of the sections I created was for GOALS. I used a free printable from Mama’s Got It Together, and I printed three copies. I organized my goals and plans into different categories: blog/business, health, and wellness. I include family and home items in the “wellness” category, and I was able to narrow down a few areas that I really want to focus on for 2014.
The photo above has some of my wellness notes. While my overall resolution is to organize my home and life, I pinpoint a few specific goals to work on throughout the year. I have two home organization books on my “To Read” list (Happier at Home and Organized Simplicity), and I also want to make sure I use my planners every day. The main areas I want to focus on organizing first are my office, my bookshelves, and the garage. Looking further into 2014, I hope to get a new (and LARGE) desk along with a new desktop computer.
Besides focusing on organizing my home and my life, my health is a top priority this year. I completed a Whole 30 challenge a few months ago, and I will be starting another round of it this month! The holidays were a weak spot for my healthy eating, but I’m ready to detox and skip the cocktails for a few months. I want to drink my daily 64 ounces of water, walk at least three times a week, and utilize my Well Fed cookbooks.
As for my blog, well everyone wants to take their space on the web to the next level. I’m no different. Specifically, I am going to rebrand my website, move over to WordPress, and create an LLC for my business and brand. I want to utilize video more often in my product reviews and everyday life posts, and I also have a new SLR on my wish list.
