When your kids come home from school, they might toss their books, backpacks, and sporting goods everywhere. It can be a challenge to keep everything organized. The best way to let them enjoy their after school time is to show them how everything has a place. Set up a creative homework center, and teach them how to store their toys appropriately. When everything is organized, there is more time to PLAY! I want to introduce you to Snaplogy which is ranked one of the best kids franchise. Keep reading for your chance to win a LEGO set, and use these tips to keep all your children’s stuff organized!
How to Organize Your Children’s Stuff
If you have a spare bedroom, you can convert it to a homework space. Use an old office or perhaps a thrifted student desk to create a simple area to get work done. A standard table and folding chairs will do the trick too. Add hooks to the walls to hold backpacks along with shelves for reference materials like books or extra electronics. This “study room” should have lots of light too so that everyone can read their textbooks!
If you have limited space, try to hang hooks in a hallway or on the back of a door. This “backpack space” will teach them the responsibility of always putting their items away where they belong.
You can also try to make a foldaway desk if space is a concern. This foldaway desk can attach to a closet door. There are several ways that you can do this, but this can add SO much more space to a room.
Use bins and easy to reach shelves so that children can put things away on their own. Try a “color” system where books go in a blue bin, toys are in a red bin, and school supplies are in a yellow bin. Everything has its place!
