Thank you Brinware for supplying the most fun dinnerware for my kiddo ever!
My son went to summer camp on and off throughout the past few weeks, and now we are gearing up for back to school. My son is home for lunch since he only attends a half day, and he gets bored of regular lunches quickly. He also seems to want to three lunches some days! School lunches or lunches that we eat at home don’t have to boring. My son tires of PB&J and ham and cheese sandwiches, but there are several fun ideas to turn lunch time into play time with Brinware!
Brinware was brought to my attention when I read about how they offer glassware for little kids. Don’t worry! The glass is safely sealed in silicone, so you don’t have to fuss over anything breaking. It’s also super easy to clean. I hate the cheap plastic plates that toddlers are “supposed” to use, so this is an awesome and eco-friendly alternative.
Fun Lunchtime Solutions
Wraps are a common alternative to sandwiches, and you can include your child in the tortilla filling process! Add lettuce, veggies, hummus, cucumbers, or your child’s favorite lunch meat. Roll it up like a burrito, cut in half, and seal it up! You can also pack a small package of dressing to dip the wrap in like ranch.
We also have recently ditched bread in favor of sandwich thins which are perfect for my son’s little hands. His absolute favorite thing to do for lunch is to use a sandwich cutter to make his favorite character in his sandwich.
Make it Yourself
Try making your own lunchables with crackers, cheese, and easy lunch meat like pepperoni or turkey. Add flavor with raw vegetables like cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and baby carrots. You can add fresh fruit (or even dried fruit!), and you can share this homemade lunchable with your child knowing it will fill them up without anything unhealthy.
You can also pop your own popcorn, create your own trail mix with your child’s favorite items like nuts, chocolate chips, and dried fruit, or you can try your hand at kid sushi (roll up rice with cooked fish!).
Play With Your Food
There are times when it is acceptable to play with your food. This silicone placemat is easy to use and easy to clean. We use goldfish crackers to count and hold our little one’s attention at the table. Target has silicone placemats in several variations including sea life, farm animals, and letters/numbers.
Kids Like Salad Too
We mix it up every so often and serve kid-friendly salad topped with veggies, croutons, bacon bits, nuts, seeds, and other easy toppings piled high on a bed of greens. My son loves hard-boiled eggs, so we always pair a salad with an egg as well.
Whatever you decide to serve, try Brinware for easy clean up. These Disney themed plates are my new favorite. We are huge Disney fans since we are annual passholders. When I spotted these plates on Disney online, we had to have them! Buy: Mickey Plate | Minnie Plate
My little man enjoys that meal time can also be play time, and I’m happy when he eats healthy options! From wraps, salads, and unique sandwiches with veggies, this school year we are making it a priority to eat and live better.
What’s your favorite lunch option? Have you tried Brinware?
